One day we were walking along the beach by the Black Sea seashore with my 10 year-old German shepherd Linda. We were playing her favourite game hide and seek. And when my turn was up I noticed that my dog had disappeared. When I found her, she was very busy eating something with a happy face. She was eating seashells and seaweeds. My first intention was to tell her off. Then I thought that she probably needed minerals, which were main components of those sea products. We have then discovered that sea molluscs, corrals and seaweeds were rich in macro elements such as Ca, Mg, K, Na, P, Cl, S. All essential micro – elements such as Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, I, Co, Ni, F, V, Cr, Mo, Se, Ti and Si.
